Born: July 26, 1982, in Glasgow
The youngest of five children born to an engineer father and a home-maker mum, Christopher Kane graduated from Central Saint Martins School of Art with an MA in womenswear.
He did a stint as an intern with Giles Deacon and Russell Sage and ended up presenting his graduate collection to the editor-in-chief of US Vogue.
In 2006 he was hired by Versace to work on the label's Atelier couture collection, and served in a consultancy capacity on shoes and accessories. In the same year he launched his own label, with sister Tammy Kane taking care of the financial side of the business.
In 2007 he was named New Designer Of The Year at the British Fashion Awards.
