It was the highlight of her career for Daniella Issa Helayel when Madonna wore one of her dresses on the cover of US Vogue in 2005. "I've dreamed of Madonna wearing my clothes ever since I was a little girl," says the Brazilian seamstress, "Even before I became a designer I wanted to make clothes for Madonna."
Daniella founded her Issa label in London in 2001 after working as a fashion consultant and buyer. Her distinctive silk print jersey dresses have become a firm favourite with the fashion set, including Keira Knightley and Kate Middleton.
It's all about versatility," says the designer of the ethos behind her designs. "An Issa dress can be worn from the beach to the office and then onto the red carpet."
