Betty Jackson has gained a reputation for designing clothes for the sophisticated, individual woman.
She graduated from Birmingham College of Art in 1971 and went on to work as a freelance fashion illustrator for two years before joining Wendy Dagworthy as a design assistant.
Her first collection saw the light of day in 1981, and four years later she picked up the title of British Designer of the Year.
Betty has received two royal honours, being named an MBE 1987 and a CBE a decade later.
She's married to David Cohen, with whom she has two children, Pascale and Oliver.
