Born: In Alicante, Spain
Spanish designer Emilio de la Morena started out as a sculptor, then in 1993 moved to the UK to study business. After gaining a first class honours degree in international business from Edinburgh University, he moved to London to work. It was there that he discovered his flair for fashion, enrolling to study at Central Saint Martins and the London College of Fashion.
His pieces commonly feature elements of embroidery as well as sculptural influences. Using ruffles, embellishments and strong shapes that compliment the body, his collections have been received with much acclaim.
He has worked for Rafael Lopez and Jonathan Saunders, and lists his career highlight as: "Having one of my dresses bought and displayed in a permanent exhibition at the Museu Textil e Indumentaria de Barcelona."
