"My designs are sometimes wearable, sometimes not," says Northampton-born James Long. "But they're always body conscious. Combined they give the wearer a more exaggerated shape"
James caused a stir when he burst onto the fashion scene with his robot-meets-biker style accessories. His pieces are 3D, and there's a whole lot of shiny leather.
His 2007 graduate show for the Royal College of Art – gothic-looking men's body bags and harnesses – immediately caught the attention of style pundits.
Working out of a studio in Hackney, James – who also holds a BA from the London College of Fashion - focuses on designs which combine leather and sheepskin with modern fabrics such as gauze netting and plastics.
