London Fashion Week: Stylish Samantha keeps up with leggy beauties at Burberry

When did prime ministers' wives get so fashionable?

She's a busy mum, but David Cameron's other half mingled effortlessly with the fashion crowd in close-fitting black trousers that were like a second skin.

Stylish Samantha, 40, more than held her own against the young fashionistas on Monday.

She rivalled the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sienna Miller, Gemma Arterton and Prince Harry's former flame Florence Brudenell-Bruce, who were also sporting skintight trousers.

They joined high-profile guests like Kanye West and Andy Murray who had flocked to London for the week's main attraction  Burberry.

The brand's trademark trenchcoat had been given an overhaul by creative director Christopher Bailey.

So bright colours, bold prints and a tribal theme added a refreshing edge to the iconic label.

Thick coats, chunky knits and bobble caps are not traditional summer offerings, but given our British summers, it was spot on.

Energetic Samantha also attended Peter Pilotto, Christopher Kane and Erdem.

Peter Pilotto's crowd included über-chic fashion journalist Anna dello Russo and Natalie Massenet, founder of luxury website Net-à-Porter – ensuring this was a very glam 9am start.

Known for pioneering digital prints, the design duo behind the brand stuck to their signature style.

But they infused it with echoes of Indonesia and its awe-inspiring natural environment after a recent trip to Asia.

The beauty of the archipelago's beaches and jungles was visible in the leaf, flower and wave prints, complemented by a palette of canary yellow, turquoise, aqua and coral.

Christopher Kane, meanwhile, lit up London with an iridescent display of beautiful dresses and embellished denim.

Bold, glittering prints adorning nude chiffon dresses, overlaid with shimmering organza, made for showstopping optical illusions.
