Manolo Blahnik, the shoe designer propelled to worldwide fame by Sex and the City's much-loved heroine Carrie Bradshaw, will make his London Fashion Week (LFW) debut in September.
The footwear maestro, 70, will host a presentation on Sunday 15 September to showcase his latest designs.
"Everybody now makes a point of coming to London – which is very different to Milan and Paris," he once said. "London is now so important to all these international buyers. London is the future."
This will be his LFW debut, but it's not the first time the Spanish-born designer has been involved – he designed the official artwork for the last season. He said the collaboration was a tribute to his late friend, Anna Piaggi.
Manolo began creating shoes in 1971, though his eponymous shoe line achieved global recognition thanks to Sarah Jessica Parker's character Carrie in the hit HBO series.
Born in Gran Canaria, Manolo now resides in Bath, Somerset. He was awarded a Honorary CBE in 2012 for his services to the British fashion industry.
Manolo will present his new wares on a jam-packed show day that includes Mulberry, Mary Katrantzou, Topshop Unique, Jonathan Saunders and L'Wren Scott.
